I’m Sinėad, a Limerick born, Dublin based artist & print maker working under the name Sketchy.

Igot my first taste of exhibiting art in 1984, when linoprint i made was chosen to be shown at the inaugural EVA+ exhibition. That early experience stayed with me, even as my creative path took a winding road through the marketing & business worlds and then onto costume design.

I started by making digitally printed designs, but my practice has become increasingly hands on, messy & experimental. Now i’m exploring screen printing, transfer mediums paint and canvas & seeing where the process leads.

I make bold, colourful work inspired by local landmarks, unusual signage, pop culture and everyday oddities. 

I divide my time between making things and helping other people make things.
