old photos

That’s how it started. The kind you find in a shoebox or tucked away in an old facebook album.

Photos of places that changed, or disappeared altogether. The beautiful cinema building that’s not a cinema anymore, the pub you were barred from when you were too young to be drinking. The arcade where half your holiday money disappeared.

I started sketching for fun & soon had a collection of prints that people wanted to buy.

at first

It was about places that had disappeared.

Then it became about the places that hadn’t. The pub on the corner, the school gates, the local landmarks, places that mean something to the neighbourhood.

& Outside the Lines!

I mostly make prints for walls.

(Because my husband drew the line at screen printing on the kitchen table..)

Wall prints are nice, but sometimes you need to get messy. Sketchy Labs is where i swap the drawing board for festival fields, classrooms & community spaces. Creating colourful workshops that get people making, experimenting & embracing a little creative chaos.

apparently

i’m supposed to write something about myself…

Marketeer turned business owner, turned costume designer, turned illustrator.

Collector of old photos & pop nostalgia. The one that remembers things people wish i wouldn’t.

Happiest surrounded by colour, ideas and creative chaos.
